Ultimo Community Centre Pickleball launch
RALLY4EVER has kicked off their first pickleball session in partnership with the Ultimo Community Centre. The sessions began this month on the 1st May. The free one-hour pickleball sessions will continue every Thursday moving forward from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Courts are inside, so sessions will commence rain or shine. Participants received free training from coaches who led drills such as serving, paddle positions, footwork, and rallying. All equipment such as paddles, balls, and nets were provided by RALLY4EVER.
During the sessions, participants could be seen socialising, laughing, and improving their pickleball skills. RALLY4EVER and the Ultimo Community Centre strive to bring both physical activity and social connection to the community through this partnership. The pickleball sessions will create a strong environment of accessibility, exercise and inclusion amongst its patrons. To aid in accessibility to the courts, the City of Sydney’s free shuttle bus service will bring patrons to the Ultimo Community Center. The full City of Sydney free shuttle schedule can be found on both our website and LinkedIn.
As the session came to an end for the day, participants made their way to the courtyard, which included a BBQ where players could share hotdogs, burgers, and vegetarian options. Enjoying a meal together is a great way to build rapport and social connection between RALLY4EVER attendants.
Many new faces were on the pickleball courts during this session, mingling, taking group photos and practising their swing. We hope to see the RALLY4EVER family growing every Thursday as new participants join us at the Ultimo Community Center. Diversity and inclusion of this growing group is what makes RALLY4EVER so successful in giving back to the community
