RALLY4EVER is a charity organization that uses tennis as a vehicle to foster social connections and improve mental well-being. We aim to break barriers and provide opportunities to those who might not usually have access to the sport.
RALLY4EVER is focused on helping underserved communities’ youth at risk and reach adults for social connection for mental wellbeing to give them an opportunity to play tennis and to be inspired. We have reached out to many marginalised communities in the past two years , those struggling with homelessness, mental health challenges or just dealing with loneliness.
The target audience for RALLY4EVER this year is youth from the huge social housing estate at Alton in Roehampton. The charity will also reach out to many local welfare agencies in the Wimbledon area including YMCA homeless rescue housing in Wimbledon. The focus is to then continue to run ongoing programs in Roehampton partnering with Emma Wells Tennis in the future.
This special event aims to bring people together through the joy of tennis and foster social connections that enhance people’s mental well-being.
Pat Cash, RALLY4EVER Ambassador, shared his enthusiasm for the event by saying:
“If we can use tennis as something to help lift people in our communities that are doing it tough ,then we have to continue to find ways to reach them. That’s what RALLY4EVER does and I am proud to be an Ambassador.”
The RALLY4EVER X City Harvest Tennis Festival is an open invitation to everyone in the community, especially those who might be facing challenges. RALLY4EVER is dedicated to using tennis as a means to break down barriers and provide opportunities for those who might not usually have access. We're proud to partner with City Harvest to provide lunch after tennis and to support ongoing programs for the youth at Alton Estate through the Regenerate Youth Foundation.
City Harvest, who partners with 375+ partner charities including foodbanks, schools, hostels, soup kitchens, community centres, faith groups, and refuges, expressed their gratitude for the tennis event collaboration.
Fiona Hollis, Head Of Communications at City Harvest says:
"City Harvest feeds 600 families every week at Alton Estate in Roehampton, and this event will help us extend our reach and impact. The cost-of-living crisis means that more and more people across the capital are going without food. City Harvest vans cover greater London and beyond delivering free surplus food to families making the desperate decision between heating their homes and feeding their families.”
Emma Wells, CEO of Emma Wells Tennis, one of London’s leading tennis coaching and park operators and a key partner in this initiative, also commented on the event:
"We are really excited to be a key partner in this wonderful tennis community coaching session, which brings together communities and ensures that tennis is accessible for all. Community is at the heart of our company ethos,"
Louise Pleming, Founder of RALLY4EVER, emphasized the organization's mission:
" This year we are running the event again at Wimbledon Park Courts, the weekend before The Championships at Wimbledon kicks off. We will be partnering with City Harvest who have been a part of the event in the past but will play a much bigger role this year. City Harvest also have a strong connection to tennis with the Vandy Murray Vans that feed people struggling to put food on their tables and also Wimbledon of course.
RALLY4EVER is committed to breaking down barriers so that everyone can experience the benefits of playing tennis for mental well-being, This event is a testament to our dedication to fostering social connections and supporting community health.
The RALLY4EVER X City Harvest Tennis Festival is free for all attendees, and we encourage everyone in the community to join us for a day of tennis, connection, and fun on Saturday 29th June. Come out, play some tennis, enjoy a delicious lunch, and be part of a supportive community!
